Why study Business Studies at A Level?
Business is an exciting and engaging subject that teaches you about the internal and external environments that businesses operate in. Businesses impact on us in every aspect of our lives. Whether we own one, work in one or use one as a consumer we can’t avoid them. This A Level takes you through the process of understanding how businesses operate and how the decisions they make that affect us. It also looks at how the external economic environment impacts on business.

Course overview

  • Students will learn through a wide range of teaching strategies such as group work, research, case studies and discussions.
  • The course covers all aspects of business from enterprise to the purpose of different functions within an organisation and the impact of the external environment.
  • You apply your knowledge to real business and see how the theory learnt in the classroom applies in the real world.
  • Students will learn how to critically analyse and evaluate business behaviour.
